In a related vein a story on Bolloré’s tumbling stock price woes might be interesting. You don’t seem to have an Africa rubric yet at WT.

Vincent Bolloré, Jean-Philippe Dorent (Havas), and Gilles Alix have been taken into custody (garde à vue) over questions of alleged improprieties concerning the port concessions in Lomé and Conakry. The judge(s) is/are interested in how the communications firm Havas (a subsidiary of a Bolloré company) under-billed Presidents Alpha Condé (Guinea) and Faure Gnassingbé (Togo) for their services.

For further media environment texture, there’s been a lot of discussion about Vincent Bolloré’s somewhat censorious role in the media in France. (The Purge of the Guignols, the stories buried about the BNP, Crédit Mutuel, the cuts to investigative journalism at Canal+). (many articles about Bolloré, as at Mediapart, cf. fr.wp)

Don’t know if this is the right place to post a tip that is only indirectly related to this article, but so far this story only appears to have gotten attention in France & in Africa (& on Al Jazeera English). I thought you might be interested.
