Cyber War Sourcebook

At a moment when U.S. democratic elections and governance may have suffered a major blow the White House appears to be leading the retreat from a nascent cyber war. According to both the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Office of The Director of National Intelligence (DNI) major corporations, hospitals, government institutions, military facilities, media, and public confidence have all been damaged in an onslaught of technologically enabled asymmetric warfare. Multiple cyber attacks have changed the military, political, economic, and social landscape across the globe. The current White House has declined to act on this increasing threat.

There is some ongoing academic debate about whether cyber attacks, as an element of asymmetric warfare, truly constitute war. This is truly an academic debate in the sense that ongoing documented cyber attacks, to advance the goals of nations, render the debate moot. Related stories should be considered in a non-partisan manner within the context of this ongoing, undeclared, and surreptitious cyber war.

This Cyber War Sourcebook project is intended as a community research project, to foster and assist public discussion of computer security, within the context of overt and covert warfare between both state and non-state actors. This is a great place to start a story idea or suggest a resource.
